How is safety glass made?
RAVAK manufactures shower enclosures, shower doors, and bathtub screens from tempered safety glass. The glass is first heated to a temperature of 600°C and then cooled with compressed air. The cooling varies according to the thickness; the thinner the glass, the more intensively it must be cooled.
This technology increases the resistance and tempered glass is subsequently up to 5 times more flexible, which also increases the resistance to impact. These characteristics are not affected even by sudden changes in temperature.
Safety even in extreme situations
We monitor the production and test the products to make sure that no insufficiently tempered or overly hardened glass leaves the factory. Such a product might not even withstand transport, let alone installation.
Quality glass will not put you in danger even in an unpredictable situation. It can withstand enormous loads and if it were to break, it would break into small pieces that are not health-threatening. At most, it would cause minor abrasions.
Why choose a glass shower enclosure?
You will realize the main advantage every time you enter the bathroom. A transparent glass shower visually enlarges the space. Both from the outside and from the inside. So you won't feel cramped in the bathroom or in the shower.
Glass shower enclosures are beautiful to look at and they feel luxurious - even to the touch. Unlike cheap panels made of artificial material, they are more solid. The quality of the glass is crucial here. It ensures that the shower enclosure will last for the next decades.
Are transparent panels high maintenance?
Different types of water have a different hardness. Water contains various amounts of minerals, which can cause deposits and limescale buildup. Here comes another RAVAK technology to the rescue.
We treat all glass with the patented RAVAK AntiCalc® technology. It creates a water-repellent layer on the surface and protects against limescale and deposits. However, it is important to regularly renew this layer. Read the article on how to care for RAVAK glass .
