Design Roman Vrtiška
and Vladimír Žák

Roman Vrtiška and Vladimír Žák met while studying at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where their collaboration began. Together, they also completed an internship at Aalto University in Helsinki, where their work received multiple awards. After graduating from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, they became part of a fresh, emerging generation of Czech designers known for their wide range of interests and professional approach. Since 2016, they have also been nurturing young talents as heads of the Furniture and Interior Design Studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.

Their work spans a broad spectrum – from product design to interiors and architecture, from craftsmanship to industrial-scale production. Creativity and unconventional thinking are the core values that drive the development of their design.

The latest result of our creative collaboration is a collection of taps called Revers, named after its reverse control system and presented in Prague in autumn 2025 at the international design and fashion festival Designblok 2025.

The design duo Vrtiška & Žák has been systematically exploring the field of taps for several years. Last year, Ravak introduced the Spring collection, showcased together with a series of washbasins and the colourfully appealing Lite furniture made of cast marble at Salone del Mobile, Europe’s largest design festival, held in Milan, Italy.

Last but not least, under the creative direction of the Vrtiška Žák studio, the Colours by Ravak concept was created. It presents our favourite products in a selection of carefully curated colours. The concept is continuously expanding and, in addition to freestanding bathtubs with coloured panels, also includes Yard ceramic washbasins in colour and Yard furniture — the very designs that marked the beginning of our collaboration with Roman Vrtiška and Vladimír Žák.
