PURI Water Tap Now with a Red Dot

One of the recipients of this year’s most prestigious European product design prize, the Red Dot Design Award, is the Czech bathroom brand RAVAK. The Red Dot has been awarded to the Puri collection of water taps designed by Kryštof Nosál, which had already received a prize from the international jury of the iF Design Award earlier this year.

The defining element of the new range of taps designed by Kryštof Nosál is the shape of a cylinder. “I’m inspired by a style that eschews everything unnecessary. That’s why the connection between the two cylinders that make up the body of the tap is very austere, to emphasise their purity and achieve a minimalist whole,” explains the designer

In the comprehensive series which covers the most common types of bathroom taps (two types of sink taps, a thermostatic shower tap and a bathtub tap), RAVAK introduces a unique technical solution for a bathtub tap. Even though it can still be switched from bath to shower, the manufacturer removed the visually intrusive switch from the outside of the tap and integrated it inside using a special cartridge. The tap can be switched from bath to shower and hot to cold very easily just by moving the lever left or right. Because an exceptional result always starts with the uncompromising quality of all components, RAVAK only uses components made by leading European brands and provides an extended five-year warranty for all models in the PURI tap range.

The Red Dot design prize was established in Essen, Germany in 1955. The products that are submitted are judged by a panel of 40 independent designers, teachers and specialised journalists who go through thousands of products divided into 49 categories on the basis of the criteria of innovation, ergonomics, functionality, service life and environmental responsibility, as well as their symbolic and emotional value.
